Of course if it had anything resembling a physics model that would be correct, but it's about as sophisticated as pole position when it comes to physics.
I span about 120 degrees the other day, hit the brakes and it turned me facing forward again! It's complete nonsense.
France , Spain, Italy, Holland, Tunisia and India.
On the 'to do' list... Alaska, Canada, Thailand and a lot more trips to India.
Nice to see the Americans in this thread living up to their reputation.
I would like to make you guys aware of a document called a passport.. it enables you to leave your country and see other places in the world!!!
Great pic Jibber. More people need to read that a few times any truly digest it.
Anytime I'm feeling that my life is a sack of shit all I have to do is think back to what I saw and experienced in the slums of Bangalore and Mumbai and you never forget just how lucky the huge majority of us westerners are, however dire our circumstances can seem to us at times.
Funnily enough most of those people I met were 10x happier than most of us pampered westerners as well
Nice..been using the better lighting mod since yesterday and it's 100x better than the crappy original lighting. The new camera views are the best yet.
Now all we need is someone to sort the FFB out and we'll be getting somewhere. Tried one modded FFB file but it wasn't very good. Hopefully well get a few more in the near future.
I found it fun to begin with, but now the bugs, the crappy handling and the piss poor FFB has taken the shine off of it.
After going back to iRacing and nKPro for some laps I fire this up do 3 or 4 laps and turn it off again. Pity, it had a lot of potential, but as usual Codies rushed it out before it was finished.
Yup, just do the settings inside the game, leave it an application control in CCC
Agree with your summary above. If you look beyond the surface it's shit (from a sim racers point of view) but it's still surprisingly compelling and fun.
It's the only Codemasters racing game since the original CMR and TOcA that I haven't deleted within a day.
It's absolutely shocking on a keyboard, and pretty bloody awful on a joypad as well. Once you fiddle with the settings enough it feels very good with a wheel.
The physics are surprisingly fun. The only thing I'm really not happy with in this game are the canned recoveries. If you start going into a spin the whole spinning and recovery has almost nothing to do with you. It's weird and very disconcerting when it happens.
I wish at the highest levels with no aids they'd left that completely in control of the user. Still, it gives you more incentive not to get into a spin in the first place
This really is the most F1 fun I've had since GP4. I ony wish we could get something with this gameplay and the physics of Ferrari Virtual Academy.
Ohh FFS, what is wrong with you? Your penis wont shrink if you play a slightly more arcade based game you know.
At least no one can call me elitist now I've sunk below the 'standard' that the true hardcore racers like you have set
I'm not sure how you know its so poor when you deleted it after 10 mins
I dunno what all the iRacers are going to do when they realise they've sunk so low . I might have to head off to the iRacing forum (where theres a massive thread about this 'game'.. and a very positive reaction to it) and let them know they are just not worthy of their iRacing subs any more and should all cancel immediately
F1 2010 strikes a really nice balance between arcade and sim, I've had a fantastic day with it so far. Time for round 3 of my championship..must dash.......
Just stick the knobends on your ignore list and have fun with F1 2010. It's a bit of a faff getting to feel good, but when you do it's a riot.
Well I'm a sim racing snob of the highest order ("if it aint netKar Pro or iRacing it aint worth driving" is my usual stance), but i have to admit I'm having a blast with this.
It took a good few hours of tweaking to get the FFB feeling decent, and once i started playing with setups I got the car feeling good. (forget the 'quick setups' they are gash)
Initially I had that awful gear change lag, but it turns out it wasn't the gears themselves but the sound lagging. As soon as I switched from their 'rapture' sound to 'software' it improved massively (and i got a few extra FPS as a bonus)
Anyone who deleted it within 10 mins is an idiot. I thought it was pants after my first 30 mins, but now I've tweaked a bit it's transformed the game completely.
It's no sim, that's for sure, but considering it's a Codemasters game I'm pretty impressed.
As long as they release a patch soon to fix a couple of annoyances I'll be having fun with this for quite a while.
Judging from the huge thread on the iRacing forums where the response has been overwhelmingly positive I'd say you're just up to your usual pointless Kunos bashing.
Before I tried it I thought laser scanned tracks were just a gimmick. Now I find it impossible to drive any other sims, including my favourite, netKar Pro, simply because of what a massive difference laser scanned tracks make to the experience.
I've driven the tracks iRacing have in other sims for years. The difference is huge!
Knowing you are driving on a perfect recreation of a track makes a big difference to me. Anything else is a step backwards. You now have the chance to drive on perfect recreations of your favourite tracks... why wouldn't you want to do that?
Obviously you couldn't care less about them, but for me and many others it's easily worth paying the extra premium for laser scanned tracks. A no brainer.
